Plan content
The housing company jenawohnen GmbH intends to develop a new residential quarter on Theobald-Renner-Straße. The planning area is located in the south-east of Jena in the district of Neulobeda and covers an area of approx. 1.7 ha along Theobald-Renner-Straße to the north-west of the so-called "Renner-Dorf".
The basis for the urban development and the development plan is the development concept of the architectural firm Thomas Müller Ivan Reimann. This envisages six five-storey buildings with a pentagonal floor plan, which are arranged around a common green space. The central courtyard functions as the identity-forming center of the new quarter, a shared garden for residents and a communal access and recreation area. The 154 planned residential units each have two to five rooms. In order to create a distinctive character and a high quality of living, the residential units and in particular the associated balconies are oriented in such a way that they are strongly integrated into the surrounding landscape. Elevator access makes it possible to make the apartments barrier-free, with 20% of the social housing to be built intended for barrier-free use. A wheelchair-accessible apartment is planned on the first floor of each of the buildings.
