Workshop on climate-friendly square design Ernst-Abbe-Platz

Due to the outdated design of the square and the ever-increasing pressure to use it while the climate in the city center is changing, Ernst-Abbe-Platz no longer meets the requirements of modern, inner-city squares. It therefore needs a fundamental overhaul.

The first step is to revise the 2012 brief in order to take account of the developments of the last 12 years. To this end, there will be an initial phase of public participation to identify the requirements of users and visitors to the square. These results - in addition to the requirements of the funding body - will be incorporated into the new task.

In order to achieve this, a workshop will take place on 12.04.2024 from 17:00 in lecture hall 5 of the Friedrich Schiller University (Carl-Zeiss-Straße campus). All interested parties are cordially invited without prior registration.

Afterwards, from 23.04. to 12.05.2024, there will be the opportunity to participate in the discussion process online via the city's participation platform.
