The new development on the Eichplatz site - construction site A will be built in the area of tension between the historic city center and the high-rise buildings to the west of the site. The medieval urban layout and the small scale of the historic façades are juxtaposed with the buildings, whose architectural language and placement in the urban space at the time of their construction expressed the departure into the modern future. This framework plan creates a spatial structure that mediates between the historic city and the high-rise solitaires. The urban and architectural design largely adopts the specifications of the framework plan and develops them further in some areas.

The Eichplatz area - construction site A is conceived as part of an independent quarter whose development blends into the existing urban layout on the outside. It supports the formation of the immediately adjacent streetscapes with clear spatial edges. Inside the quarter, an independent, small-scale spatial structure is created. New and old city squares are spatially linked with one another.

Implementation of the project has not yet begun. [As at: September 2024]
